After almost two years of recording in some of most luxurious basements and bygone studios in and around Ithaca NY, Common Railers are giving birth to their debut album "The Spark". Recorded and Produced by Chad Crumm, the record consists of 10 tracks highlighting the band's acoustic folk and singer-songwriter style, many of which have been performed live over the last two years. Songwriters Peter Glanville (guitars/vocals), Gordon Rowland (mandolin/accordion/vocals), and Chad Crumm (fiddle/banjo/vocals) collaborate on the band's original material and add harmonies to each other's compositions. Gordon Rowland penned the lyrics for three of Glanville's songs, while Chad Crumm's off kilter cut exposes an eery side of the band. Upright bassist Mike Costello doubles on dobro on several tracks, while Shane Hartman switches between brushes, stick drumming, and percussion.
